Lynne Speake is a multi disciplinary artist who combines sculpture, ceramics, photography, written word, painting and installation. Originally a painter Lynne left ten years of teaching in 2007 to complete an MA (distinction) at Falmouth University.
Her work is organically driven by her materials and directly influenced by her environment of peeling paint, rusting metal, colour, texture and pattern.
Lynne's main focus at the moment is her investigation of, and experimentation with, porcelain paperclay. It offers her not only a way to create sculptural pieces but also to once again connect with her painting practice, only now upon a three dimensional surface.
Along with her ceramics range Lynne also creates large Art-Jewellery / Wearable Sculpture assemblages of found and gifted treasures sourced from Cornish boatyards, beaches and forests; 'Alongside my poetic ramblings that often accompany these creations I aim to gently invite people to think about the environmental impact of what they discard'.
Lynne regularly exhibits in both the Uk and internationally, is the founder and creative director of the @Precious.Collective; a group of nearly 200 Art-Jewellery makers from all parts of the world with a present following of 11K.
