atelier vases, jugs, bowls, plates, condiment spoons and beakers a substance of natural form Samme loves to make with Cornish stoneware clay, creating large-scale, hand-built, domestic, as well as wheel thrown items that are essentially local. After many years working in publishing, in particular on the lovely, World of Interiors Magazine, Samme brings her knowledge to her ceramics designs. Working with real mussel shells and scallop shells from Mounts Bay to create the ‘Queen Anne Chic’ collection or the pressed ‘Floral Roots’ collection created by impressing flower patterns into the clay, the pieces are finished in colour ways of natural of Cornish cream, antique red with a twist of orange, indigo blue as deep as the blue found in the afternoon sea, or a pale sky blue, soft and contemporary. Organic shaped tableware; dinner plates to serving dishes, ready to use in the interior of our homes and workplaces. Work is priced from £12 for a caddy spoon up to £380 for celebratory pieces.
Studio open to the public by appointment. Private commission undertaken and welcome.
